Overview

Some things that New Zealanders travelling or living in Canada should be aware of are:

Crime – watch out for petty crime, especially in tourist areas.
Terrorism—consider the Canadian authorities’ terrorism threat level when making travel plans.
Extreme weather—in the winter, snow and ice storms can affect local infrastructure and create dangerous driving conditions. Remote and forested areas can also experience wildfires in the spring and summer.
