Protests have been taking place across Mozambique since the general election in October 2024. Protests have resulted in deaths, destruction of property and travel disruption (including to and from the airport). Further protests are expected.
Violent crime, including muggings, armed robbery and carjacking, happens in Mozambique. Kidnapping for financial gain also happens in larger cities.
Terrorists target foreigners and areas where foreign companies operate.
