Two large earthquakes struck central Myanmar on 28 March 2025. A significant 7.7 magnitude earthquake with an epicentre 16km northwest of Sagaing, near the city Mandalay and a subsequent 6.4 magnitude aftershock which struck shortly after with and epicentre 18km south of Sagaing.
